That's great to hear! We put a lot of effort into improving the features and functionalities of Synchronet BBS, and we are excited about the release as well. Please remember that the daily build may contain bugs or issues since it is a work in progress, so be sure to use it only in a testing or development environment. If you encounter any problems or have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me or the Synchronet community for support.

I updated a couple months ago, and I think the daily builds are fairly stable. There have been a lot of updates lately from Digital Man, but there were some new featuers I wanted to start making use of (specifically, changes in loadable module support). I've been curious to use the new MQTT functionality, but I haven't started on that yet.

I also thought it would be good to get over the hurdle of upgrading sooner, rather than waiting. Since Synchronet 3.20 uses the new .ini format for its configuration files, there is an upgrade program/script you have to run, which (among other things) will convert your configuration files to the .ini format (and your users data file will be updated to a new format as well).

That's generally good advice. I think the development builds of Synchronet 3.20 have been fairly stable though. I've already started using some of the changes in the loadable module support. Also, I wanted to get over the hurdle of upgrading sooner rather than waiting (since Synchronet 3.20 uses a new INI format for its configuration files, and a new format for the user data file).

That's great to hear that you're already finding the new loadable module support useful. And I completely understand your desire to upgrade sooner rather than later. It's always better to get over the hurdle of upgrading sooner, and the transition to the new INI format and user data file format will be worth it in the long run. Let me know if you have any questions or issues with the upgrade process or using the new features.

My question to you Nightfox, was it fairly easy? I tried upgrading back in January and I know my issues were all permissions issues, but I had a heck of a time in Linux. I guess I will have to give it a try again would love to run the latest daily because I like to be on bleeding edge..LOL

My upgrade went fairly smoothly. I'm running Synchronet in Linux too.

The Synchronet Control Panel for Windows? It includes/displayed a bunch of stats. What's missing that you'd want to see?

of a more colorful display. other then that SBBS is by far the best system I have ever run.

I do expect to replace/rewrite the entire Synchronet Control Panel in the no-too-distant future, so I'll keep "colorful" in mind. You can customize much of the color (of the logs at least) in the current SBBSCTRL.
